In the Nordic ski world, the RCS is probably the most famous ski, this name that used to designate race skis from Fischer is now the third model in the range. A tried and tested ski, even more so as it benefits progressively from the innovations trickling down from its two big brothers, the Carbonlite and Speedmax.
What are the characteristics of the Fischer RCS Skate Plus Medium Nordic ski?
The RCS Skate doesn’t need an introduction anymore. This long-lasting model has undergone major evolutions throughout the years, both in terms of construction and manufacturing processes. Honeycomb and carbon plate core, the structure resemble the one of skis from the higher end range, but differs by its stiffness and forgiveness. The Medium version features a flatter and softer camber, suited either to lighter skiers or soft snow conditions. The Plus base is perfect in European snow conditions, its optimum use temperature is around 0 to -5°C. The glide quality of this ski doesn’t need to be demonstrated anymore, all the more as it benefits from a base and manufacturing process similar to the Speedmax: the Cold Base Bonding. The base is cold glued to limit the impact on its molecules, it boosts the lifespan of wax and the ski is more versatile on snow changes. Very soft in skating, which by the way is its power, you will always feel safe on the RCS. A ski that allows to progress without limit.
